An Anniversary Celebration- Seattle Style | {Seattle Portrait Session}

This season my heart is full. I have SO much to be thankful for... never would I have dreamed of traveling the world like I've done this past year and look forward to doing more in the future. Late this Summer I decided to go to Seattle for the For the Love Retreat.. knowing it would be the perfect ending to another crazy wedding season. The week before I found myself in New York City only to return to Georgia Friday night to shoot a wedding Saturday and then board a plane at 8am Sunday morning so I could arrive in time in Seattle to meet with Cassandra and J.W. Cassandra is such a sweet lady and I've been blessed so many times in the past couple of years by her sweet words and encouragement. She was a bridesmaid in a wedding in my early years and had awaited the day we'd be able to work together. When I mentioned that I'd be in Seattle (knowing she lives in Reno and that's much closer to her than Atlanta) she got SO excited and jumped at the opportunity to not only do a session but to visit one of her good friends as well.

It was the perfect rainless day in Seattle and I had so much fun learning about these two as we wandered this quaint little town. She lead the way to where we started- the trees painted blue. We're not sure why but the contrast in color turned out pretty sweet in the pictures! Oh yes- and because we were IN Seattle and that's the birthplace of good coffee, Starbucks being one of them we had to keep warm keeping a couple of warm drinks in hand.

Absolutely LOVE this.. and how perfect is the bird flying through the background?

Such a happy pair!

and she can rock being Serious as well.

The previous day they'd found a cute little shop to rent umbrellas from- Cassandra saw the yellow one and fell in love... then she learned the same shop actually supplies the umbrellas for "How I met Your Mother". She's an avid fan of the show so it wasn't just a cute yellow umbrella and had extra special meaning to use in their pictures.

In fact they actually shared about where their umbrellas have been used in Hollywood here.

The original Starbucks show across from Pike's Place can be seen behind them.

Doesn't she have the most beautiful smile?

The next morning at 9am this is what the weather looked like. Yet another reason to be thankful we had SUNSHINE the day before!
