When the North Meets the South | {Savannah Destination Wedding Pictures}

It seems the trend for me has been to start the wedding season destination style... and I've gotta say that it's a trend that I hope continues over the years to come! Last year I started the 2012 wedding season in Hawaii and this year I found myself in the historic streets of Savannah exploring the endless opportunities for pictures for Kristen and Mike's wedding! This Fall I traveled to New York City to spend an afternoon with them on the high line and while we were rushing against the sun setting and the imminent showers that were to break open at any minute their pictures and our time together was filled with laughter and fun! Kristen and Mike were joined by their family and friends- most traveling from New Jersey to Savannah to see the two of them exchange their vows. Mike's grandparents actually made the journey all the way from Portugal! While it rained all night and even into the late morning before her wedding her spirits couldn't be shaken and as we all held tight to the weather forecast being correct that day (clear skies in the afternoon) we continued with plan A and their wedding being held at sunset in Forsyth Park in front of the beautiful water fountain.

Fortunately, the skies cleared early and a breeze even moved in to chase away the humidity and it truly couldn't have been a more beautiful afternoon for a wedding! It was SO hard to choose favorites from this wedding day as every last picture was filled with so much love, joy and beauty but try as I might I've narrowed the selection down to tell the story best I can... and now I invite you in to enjoy their beautiful wedding story as well.

Congrats to Kristen and Mike- it's been such a pleasure getting to know you guys and I look forward to seeing you again!

Sometimes to get the shot takes great risks.... like facing your fears (heights) and balancing on very tall walls...

I loved how they brought a piece of Savannah in with their boutonnieres. The story behind attaining these flowers is one is equally unique to the flowers themselves!

A special thanks to Karen who made the trip to Savannah to assist.

Kristen- you were such a gorgeous bride!

I absolutely loved their first look!

Taxi said it'd be there in 3 minutes... 30 minutes later with no taxi in sight the trolly came to the rescue!

Nothing is more beautiful than a little sunlight, spanish moss and a dashing wedding party.

Stunning. My Favorite.

Kristen and Mike were gifted a live painting of their ceremony... such a neat and unique gift!

Delicious hors d'oeuvres from Vic's on the River.

Just before the night ended I asked them to step onto the balcony for a couple of last shots. I'm SO happy with the way they turned out. A little piece of Savannah for them to always remember their celebration and reception by the river that night!
