Leslie Maternity Session
Today I'm sharing something a little different but none the less quite special. This beautiful woman is near and dear to my heart. I remember the first day we met and her and her beautiful mama (it's where she gets her good looks from) sat across from we as we talked about her wedding and how she met Jeremy (her husband) on Match.com. She was beaming with joy and excitement and I was so excited when I she said I'd be documenting their wedding day story! Fast forward and this girl is as genuine, sweet, caring and loyal as they come. She was a bride but over the years has become a dear friend. We've enjoyed afternoon walks with our pups together, coffee dates and endless conversations about marriage, life, babies, husbands, cooking, work and the like.
I watched her and Jeremy wait patiently as they tried to start a family. I saw her walk the road of the trials, frustrations and feelings of discouragement when it didn't happen like they hoped it would. Finally the good news came and and continued to try and meet and walk on a weekly/semi regular basis.
I know so many of my couples are starting families of their own and it's inspired me to try something a little different. To "test the waters" and see what I could create doing a maternity session. I didn't want to go out and create the "typical" maternity pictures but also took a little extra creative freedom in some of my favorite pictures to really make them stand out.
We had this entire shoot planned to look much differently than it did. I'd pulled together a team including a stylist, florist, hair and makeup and a really beautiful venue and then the weather was moody and couldn't make up its mind so with a forecast for rain we called everything off.. only to discover that afternoon turned out to be absolutely beautiful! (Ok there were scattered showers but still...)
Thankfully this girl was a true sport and we went for it.. not knowing if it would still rain as forecasted. She came over and I helped her with hair and makeup. (I'm no professional but I thought it turned out pretty well). :)
A huge thank you to Leslie not only for being my patient, gorgeous and such a gracious model but also for being such an incredible friend. I'm so excited for you and Jeremy and know you're going to be the best parents and can't wait to meet the little mister when he arrives. :)
