Katie and JD Wedding Celebration | Georgia Freight Depot Wedding

Katie and JD's wedding at the Georgia Freight Depot has been long awaited! If I'm honest I've been awaiting getting to celebrate with this special family since the day I worked with her beautiful older sister nearly 4 years ago! The Mallows have become near and dear to my heart. Last Fall when I met JD's family while spending a weekend in Minneapolis with Katie and JD for their engagement session- it became clear that Katie's in-laws (to be) are equally as kind, genuine and beautiful as the kin she goes home to. I knew then- that their July wedding may be one of my favorite days to date you can be sure their downtown Atlanta wedding didn't disappoint!

They spent the day surrounded by the love and joy of their families and friends. Friends who have been beside her through thick and thin, friends who have seen JD become the man he is today. And friends- there is nothing more beautiful than this.

The depth of relationships and love in this room was clearly demonstrated on the dance floor during the anniversary dance. With the dance floor filled it wasn't until we hit 25-30 years of marriage that couples began leaving the dance floor and yet there were many couples up there at 45-50 years and two couples that "won" the dance at 60-65 years+. It was incredibly touching and not something you get to see, celebrate and experience often.

Quiet moments in the room when they believed no one was watching or those smiles and laughter shared with their grandparents were at the top of my favorite parts to witness during the day. Seeing the way JD admires and loves this beautiful girl and how he was completely in awe that she would soon be his wife was so special to witness and capture.

This wedding will be celebrated with two blog posts this week! The first today and the second on Thursday!

Now.. let's get started- shall we!?

The Georgia Freight Depot is the oldest building still standing in Atlanta and let me say- it's just absolutely BEAUTIFUL! This little girl is extra special as she was named in honor of the older Katie holding her. Her mama helped take care of Katie and her siblings when they were younger! Thanks to Samantha for capturing these moments and memories of the guys. I specially love the ones of JD and his beautiful mom. Such a sweet and special moment to be savored.

Would you guess it was pouring rain during their first look!? :) Sisters! One of the most fun groups to date. SO FUN!This crew knows how to CELEBRATE and have a good time!If you're curious about what's to come- consider this a taste and tease... you don't want to miss Part 2 of Katie and JD this week!
